This private residence for a young couple is
located adjacent to Mulholland
Drive in the Hollywood Hills. The building is positioned near a ridgetop and
features views of the Hollywood sign, Universal Studios and downtown Los Angeles.
Located on a steep lot the design presented
many construction and structural design challenges. It was determined that a small building
footprint and several stacked floors above would be a cost-effective response to
these issues. In an effort to minimize
the visual impact of a two car garage the entry was placed in the center between
each. The entry walkway features a
redwood trellis and large planters on each side.
